 Ecstasy

  EFFECTS
 Ecstasy

• Users can feel alert and in tune with their surroundings and with other people too. Sound, colour and emotions can seem much more intense.

• Users report that ecstasy causes jaw clenching and teeth grinding, which can damage the teeth.

• Other effects include nausea and loss of appetite, compulsive behaviour and dilated pupils.

• The effects can last from 3 to 6 hours. The energy buzz from ecstasy means users may dance for hours. It can take up to an hour before the effect of one tablet is felt.

• Ecstasy affects body temperature control. The user risks overheating particularly if they dance for a long time in a hot environment.

• Users should take time out to cool down and sip non-alcoholic drinks regularly to help avoid overheating and dehydration.

• It is dangerous to drink too much water in one go. Users should take regular sips of small amounts of water, fruit juice or isotonic drinks.

• Ecstasy makes users sweat more. Eating salty snacks may help replace salt loss caused by sweating
