tranquillisers
The law

• Possession without a prescription is not illegal (except in the case of temazepam Rohypnol and flunitrazepam).

• Supply (giving or selling to someone) is against the law and Class C penalties apply.

• Tranquillisers can be supplied lawfully only by a pharmacist to someone with a doctor’s prescription.

• The maximum penalty for unlawful supply of a Class C drug is 5 years prison and/or a fine.

A drugs record can cause serious problems at home and school and could affect job prospects.

• If you have a drugs record, it can be difficult to get a visa to travel to some countries.
